DiskInternals Linux Reader 1.1
Publisher's Description:
DiskInternals Linux Reader - How to get safe and quick access to alternative file systems? DiskInternals Linux Reader is a new easy way to do this. This program plays the role of a bridge between your Windows and Ext2/Ext3 Linux file systems. This easy-to-use tool runs under Windows and allows you to browse Ext2/Ext3 Linux file systems and extract files from there.
There are a number of evident merits of the program, which you should know. First of all, DiskInternals Linux Reader is absolutely free. Secondly, the program provides for read-only access and does not allow you to make records in Ext2/Ext3 file system partitions. This guarantees that the interference in an alterative file system will not affect the work of Linux later. Apart from this, it is necessary to note, that it gives you an opportunity to use common Windows Explorer for extracting data. A preview option for pictures is one more pleasant point, which is worth mentioning.
How to get safe and quick access to Ext2/Ext3 Linux file systems? DiskInternals Linux Reader is an easy and short way to solve the problem!
While saving, it ignores file security policies. It means that it is possible to access absolutely any file on a Linux disk from Windows. The program can create and open images of Ext2/Ext3 disks.
Linux Reader is 100% FREE.

Many thanks to make us available this fantastic tool for free. I used this after an unbrick procedure for a ST3500320AS Seagate hard disk (SD15 firmware fails and disk become inaccessible, unbrick procedure is described elsewhere) . Partitions were EXT3 formatted and I could access all the data and make backup from my desktop XP sp3 PC. The tool is clear, transparent interface and really high speed recovering files and directories. I recommend this tool. Thanks Ni

My NAS suddenly wouldn't allow the drives to be accessed. When I attemped to administer the NAS it wanted to "FORMAT" the drives ... no way.
I removed the HDDs and placed them in a USB cradle and they registed, phew. But, they weren't Windows format ...
This software allowed the Linux Native volume's to be read from a Win XP environment.
The process of "copying" (it may be doing more for recovery) the files out is labourious (almost 2TB across both drives), but at least I am able to do so.

I was able to download the Linux Reader in order to snag some files off of a non working linux partition. I had run an update and temporarily lost the use of my Linux OS. I needed some files in a pinch. I've save many Windows partitions with live Linux tools. This time it was the other way around.

Seems like a good product, it does what it is suppose to do. I believe that linux has far better support for reading differnt partion types.

Wonderful utility, it let me recover my files from a failed ext2 drive using Windows, and it managed to recover everything when a $40 program wouldn't.

What about USB storages ?
Disk Linux Reader is unable to read an USB disk or an USB card with linux files on. I did not try it yet with an internal linux disk and could not say if it works.

Does what it says it does!
A good program but failed in my case because the damaged file was too big to be copied to my only destination disk which was FAT32. This is a program that recovers files and copies them to a backup disk, not a program that repairs a damaged disk or files.

Useful tool
It's a very good tool for viewing and copying files from a linux fs, however, sometimes its a bit cumbersome to some things (like the copy thing). Nevertheless it's only cumbersome and not annoying, so i like the tool.

It didn`t worked
Since I tried to use your product subjectively long time ago, and hadn't much time to play with it, I can't say much about that why it didn't worked. All I can say, that DILR was unable to give me access to ext3 partition on some small drive (~5GB), although it saw the drive/partition and mapped a drive letter for it. I did restarted win. after that, but w/o success.

Work well
Recently I had to return to windows work on a project, yet I had forgot that I had some crucial files saved in my Linux directory. So instead of having to go back through all the trouble of rebooting and mounting my usb thumb drive, the Linux allowed me to save time and extract the data from my Linux file system into my Windows file system. It was incredibly easy to use and in my opinion is good to use for beginners as well as the intermediate users.

Handy program to read your ext3 partition
I found this program very useful, thought not exactly what I was looking for. LinuxReader does a great job and does exactly what it claims. Althought i was looking for a program where I could actually drag and drop my mp3 files in my linux partition to windows media player for instance. The only method I was able to listen to my mp3 files in linux partition was by copying the files and pasting them on my NTFS drive. Overall It's a good program to view ur files located on the ext3 drive.

Serves the purpose ...
Yes, it really served the purpose that I actually choose it for.
The simple and faster user interface makes the file transfer from Linux disk drives to windows very easy with drag drop feature.
I like to appreciate all team members who involved in designing DiskInternals Linux Reader.
Its great !!! Thank you !!!

Works well
What little I needed to use the product it worked well. I originally needed it to find logs in a failed SUSE instal on a HP lap top (dual boot). I am not that well informed on Linux, but I was able to fo find what I was looking for.
